Dutch collects no personal data. The app has no server, no user accounts and no analytics. Nothing you enter is sent to the developer, and there is no system anywhere that could receive it.
Your groups, the people in them and every expense are stored on your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, mirrored to your own private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit. That storage belongs to your Apple Account. The developer has no access to it and no ability to read, export or delete it.
When you share a group, Dutch uses Apple's own CloudKit sharing — the same mechanism behind a shared photo album or a shared Note. The QR code and link are produced by Apple and grant access to that group's records only. People you share with can see and edit that group. They cannot see any of your other groups.
Some preferences are kept on your device alone and are never synced: which member of a group is you, who usually pays, the last currency and exchange rate you entered, and which group you opened most recently. These exist to save you typing.
Dutch Unlimited is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple. The developer never sees your payment details, card number or billing address. The app asks Apple whether this Apple Account owns the purchase and does nothing else with that answer. The purchase is recorded on your device and by Apple, not on any server run by the developer.
Only what Apple reports to any developer with an app on the App Store: the number of downloads, purchases, crashes and ratings, in aggregate. This comes from Apple, not from the app, and does not identify you. If you have turned off Share With App Developers in your iOS analytics settings, Apple does not include your device at all.
Dutch contains no advertising, no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no tracking pixel and no third-party code of any kind. It is built with Apple's frameworks only. You can verify this — the entire source is published at github.com/lakafior/Dutch under the Mozilla Public License 2.0.
This site is static HTML hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It sets no cookies, loads no fonts or scripts from other domains, and runs no JavaScript. Cloudflare processes requests to serve the page and may keep short-lived operational logs, as any web host does.
Delete a group in the app and it is removed from your device and your iCloud. Delete the app and its local data goes with it; to remove what is stored in iCloud, use Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage on your device. Because the developer holds nothing, there is no request to send and nobody to ask.
Dutch is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the revised version will be published here with a new date. Because the app has no data collection to expand, any change is likely to be a clarification.
